Ask for the property’s written specifications and complete proposed terms. Review the lot, structural options, finishes, incentives, completion expectations and any conditions with your agent, lender and relevant professionals before comparing a builder option with a resale.
How should I compare recurring community costs?
Request the current association and any applicable district information for each property. Note what the charges cover, their frequency and any separate obligations. Do not assume that two homes with similar asking prices carry the same ongoing costs.
