Coming Soon to Winter Garden, Restaurant Agave Bandido

Horizon West’s Hamlin to get new-to-market restaurant Agave Bandido

Plans filed in Orange County by a local developer reveal a new restaurant has been added to
the growing lineup for Horizon West’s popular Hamlin community.

Winter Garden-based Boyd Development Corp. filed a request Feb. 2 to revise its plans for its “Lot C”

portion of its Hamlin project, at the southeast corner of New Independence Parkway and Hamlin Groves Trail.

Why this matters: New-to-market restaurant concepts signal the desire of brands to be in the Orlando metro, while the construction of Agave Bandido’s Hamlin location figures to create opportunities for contractors and vendors, as well as new jobs.

The Agave Bandido concept is owned by Fort Myers-based Wolverine Management. The restaurant brand’s first location opened in Pembroke Pines in 2020 and offers contemporary, authentic cuisine in a lively ambiance.

Its menu includes appetizers such as grilled avocado, tortilla soup and flautas, entrees such as enchiladas, mango lime mahi mahi, burritos and tacos, sides such as yucca fries and sweet plantains, and desserts such as churros, tres leches and churro ice cream sandwiches. It also offers Mexican sodas to drink, as well as beer, wine, tequila and house cocktails such as margaritas in a range of flavors: classic, berry basil, guava, strawberry, mango, hibiscus coconut and passion fruit, among others.

In addition to the newly revealed location coming to Hamlin, the Atlanta Business Chronicle reports the concept is eyeing its first metro Atlanta location, as well.

Elevations for Agave Bandido included in the Orange County filing reveal a one-story building with a large patio seating area. Boca Raton-based Stephen Griss Associates Architecture produced the elevations.

“Orlando seems to be a natural choice for many of these companies looking to expand their footprint.”
